The NSW Government is encouraging charities, not-for-profits, companies limited by guarantee and local government organisations within NSW to apply for grant funding to hold events and activities that celebrate women during the State’s inaugural NSW Women’s Week.

Women across NSW make important contributions at work, in our families, communities and neighbourhoods. The 2019 NSW Women’s Week to be held 3-9 March 2019 has been established as a centrepiece to support the NSW Government’s commitment to improve the lives of women in NSW.

The NSW Women’s Week grants provide local organisations with an opportunity to deliver a range of education, mentoring and participatory activities that will provide direct benefit local to women and girls. Funding is available across two categories:

  • Up to $1,000 for small scale events and activities
  • $1,001 to $5,000 for larger scale events and activities

Grants objective

Events and activities must promote at least one of the three priorities of the NSW Women’s Strategy 2018-2022, which comprise women’s economic opportunity and advancement, health and wellbeing, and participation and empowerment.

  1. Economic opportunity and advancement
  2. Health and wellbeing
  3. Participation and empowerment

Grant funding can be used for the direct costs of the event/activity, including promotion, entertainment, catering, venue hire and transport for participants.

Who can apply?

Charities, not-for-profit organisations, public companies limited by guarantee and local government organisations based in NSW.

Application timelines

The grants round will open Monday 15 October 2018 and close at 5pm Monday 12 November 2018. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in late November 2018.
