We’re joining Mardi Gras 2020!

UTS will be participating in our 2nd Mardi Gras Parade in February this year. Our float this year is a hive of intersectional issues, the LGBTIQA+ communities at UTS want to connect and end injustices and oppression for marginalised communities and fight for climate justice. This is a float open to both staff and students. If you are interested please check if you are available for the below dates and fill in the below Google form by Friday 31 January. There is no expectation of your dance ability, just a willingness to participate.

-We have spaces for 80 fabulous participants. We are prioritising LGBTIQA+ students and staff (please still apply if you are an Ally).

-Dance choreography is optional.

-A commitment to attend the 3 dance sessions (if dancing) which will be held 3 times on the 10th, 17th and 24th of February 2020 from 4pm-5.30pm on campus.

-You will need to arrive in Hyde Park by 3pm or UTS by 2pm on Saturday 29th of February. We will wait together in marshalling stalls from 3-7pm and then march/dance the parade route which is approx. 2km long. We would love to make this event as accessible as possible so please get in touch to talk about possible options to make the event more accessible.

-You will receive a UTS Mardi Gras t-shirt and bee wings to keep and will be fed on the day of the parade.
