UTS Big Thinking Forum: Sustainable Australia

9 July @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Pollution going into the atmosphere.

What does a truly sustainable Australia look like? Are we on the right track?

Climate change is once more a top concern. Australia sweltered through its hottest ever month in January. Heat waves and water scarcity killed off millions of fish in the Murray Darling Basin. More intense flooding and cyclones have battered Queensland. All while the bitter political debate about energy policy ground to a halt in the nation’s capital. As we are now entering a new three-year term for the federal parliament, what is the roadmap to a more resilient and prosperous Australia?

A panel of industry and academic experts, including Dr Sven Teske from UTS’s Institute for Sustainable Futures, will discuss how current energy research can inform positive climate and social outcomes for Australia.
