Women in Data Science Festival

8 March, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 8:30 pm

Banner image reads: Women in Data Science. March 8, 2018. At the University of Technology, Sydney.

UTS is proud to host an event celebrating the women of Data Science in Sydney.

As part of the 2018 Stanford WIDS conference, we invite all women (and the men who want to support them) to join us for a full day of conversation, connection, networking, training and awareness raising. Speakers include industry leaders, shapeshifters and datapreneurs.

Join us to hear from an exciting lineup of leading women in Data Science as they discuss the evolving challenges of equity, diversity, and gender within the world of Data Science, as well as the opportunities in the field for women of the next generation. The Women in Data Science Sydney Conference will feature an opening address from Amy Shi-Nash of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, lightning talks showcasing recent graduates of the UTS Master of Data Science and Innovation, and compelling panel discussions on Data Ethics and Data Science Futures.

Our Day Session and Masterclasses will be followed by Networking Drinks, a keynote address from Anita Sood of Microsoft, and a Great Debate on the proposition that: “It’s time to turn the machines over to women.”

Day Session and Masterclasses: 8:30am – 5:00pm. Register here.

Networking Drinks and Great Debate: 5:30 – 8:00pm. Register here.

Please Note: Registrants who wish to attend both the Conference and the Debate must register for both events.
